Food health facts versus food health myths – will it be easy to determine identify if the things we hear about food and health are true or made true? One food fact on health is that sweet potatoes are better than white potatoes. It is a fact or just a myth?

However we understand a thing or however we deal on food health and facts about it, there are really standards that will help us deal with it. Foods that you eat will be visible with your own persona. The fact about food health is that it affects your whole being – your physical body and your character. When you eat healthy foods, you have a strong defense to diseases and you look good and feel good. The way you act everyday is also an effect of what you eat. Your mood shows a lot about what you eat and how you eat. For example, when you eat banana, it affects your mood. Bananas can lift moods. That is one of the many food health facts.

Some of the food health facts that we always hear and sure are true are the following:

  1. Health and fruits health fact. One of the food health facts is that fruits give the body the minerals and vitamins that it needs to stay healthy. They can also prevent diseases by boosting up the body’s immune system.
  2. Health and vegetables health facts.  Like fruits, vegetables give the body the vitamins and minerals that it needs and that vegetables helps lower the bad cholesterol in our body. The body’s defense against sickness will be stronger with vegetables. Our body needs protein to build and repair it when needed.
  3. Health and meats health facts. Meat is rich in protein. Read meat, fish meat, beef and lean meat– they all have the protein that our body needs but they may differ on the fat that they contain.
  4. Health and seafood health facts. Seafood, including the most consumes seafood (fish) is high in protein but definitely low in fats. Fishes and other seafood contain omega-3 that is good for the heart.
  5. Health and Fast foods health facts. These food health facts, really strike a lot of people especially the dieters. Fast foods are typically rich in fats, cholesterol, artificial additives, salt or sodium and calories, and these are equivalent to the fact that there are effects of fast food to our health. Like any other foods, fast food is not really bad when it is properly moderated. But if you eat fast foods every now and then, that’s a different story.
  6. Health and caffeine health facts. Caffeine is said to be addictive and unsafe for people. But the truth is caffeine is not harmful to our health. Caffeine itself does not but the act of taking it does. This is one of the food health facts that is standing firm to prove its existence. With the moderation of caffeine intake, there would be no risks for heart attack, high blood pressure, and other diseases linked to caffeine.

Let’s not blame the food that we eat. We are the ones who are in charge of choosing the healthy diet that we eat and how much it will be. I think we should also include in the food health tips list that people are the ones who are in-charge of their health and how healthy the food they choose is. When they choose it wrong, they will always be the ones to suffer the consequences.
