Oral Care Tips

Many people may know this tips that I am sharing with you but just for the reminder purpose, I would like it to share it with you. Familiar as it may seem, but why does oral hygiene still a big issue? In fact, a gum disease called Periodontis is second well known      among diseases. And almost 45% of the world’s population has a bad breath. The answer cannot be found anywhere. It is found on the way we handle our personal hygiene. Oral hygiene is so essential because it brings our whole being. Have you ever been left by your date because of your stinky smell? Embarrassing isn’t it? Or you cannot show off your smile because of discoloration on your tooth. Here are some tips that may help you maintain the beautiful smile you have and achieve excellent oral hygiene:

1. Have a good oral hygiene – This includes choosing the right toothbrush, which should have a soft bristles, using toothpaste with fluoride. Flossing is also one of the ways to remove plaques that have built up in our teeth. These plaques should be removed or it will attack your gums and teeth. Plaque is responsible in our bad breath. Using mouthwash is also essential to get better oral health.
 
2. Checking the mouth for any irregularities – We should check our mouth if there is sudden change on the color of our gums, swelling or bleeding of the gums may be a symptoms of gum diseases and problems. Gum problems should be treated immediately or it may result to tooth lose. Early detection of gum problems can prevent us from more serious gum disease like periodontis.

3. Well balanced diet – Our diet is the main reason why there are irregularities on our oral health, sweets, sticky and starchy foods are should be lessen. This food allows the build up of plaque in our teeth. Consuming more calcium rich foods like, milk, cheese and dairies promotes stronger teeth. Fruits that is rich in vitamin C is essential for a healthy gums. Alcohol intakes should be lessening. It is also best to reduce our intake of coffee; having coffee twice a day can leave stains on our tooth.

4. Saying no-no to smoking – Smoking is one of the top reasons that cause discoloration on our teeth. And smoking makes us at higher risk from gum disease. So we should stop smoking if we want to smile with beautiful, white teeth.

5. Regular dental check up – Medical advice is good to have the best advice on oral care. Fillings can be done if needed. Gum problems can be treated through prescribed medication. Tooth discoloration can be treated on cleansing solutions done by the dentist. Here, we can ask the dentist what toothbrush we should use especially to those suffering from gum problems.
