In the research made by Sun and Skin Research Inc of Florida, the No Add brand combined with the ocean portion product strengthen the category of the sun screen brand that will increase its economic scale. Beating into the growing market for value added product, Sun and Care research has acquired the trademark of manufacturing rights. During his business trip in Europe by the year 1954, Emanuel Stolaroff heard that an uncommon soap was developed by Dr. Edmond Fromont a Belgian Chemist. With just the first wash using this soap the normal pH balance of skin had been normalized. Stolaroff, because of his business inclination believe that such amazing soap has a good stand in the market industry. He immediately contacted Dr, Fromont and arranges the distributing of this soap over United States, and that’s the birth of Neutrogena soap. In 1962, Neutrogena soap overwhelms the market industry so the company was synonymously named after the soap Neutrogena. IN 1980, Neutrogena gained a respect to medical profession and the new emphasis was directed into marketing and research, and in that time Neutrogena entered the hair care product. Today Neutrogena is one of the leading cosmetics in the whole world; its products have extended from soap to hair care and to sun care.
- Coppertone
Coppertone is a brand name in an American sunscreen owned by Schering Plough Health care products. Coppertone is the sister brand of Bain de Soleil. In 1944 a tanning lotion was developed by a Pharmacist named Benjamin Green. The company became famous in 1953 when Coppertone girl was introduced to the market. It was became popular by its advertisement showing a girl who is caught in surprise when an American cock spaniel creep up following her and pulls down her blue swimsuit bottoms exposing her pale buttocks which is contrasts to her tanned body.
- Bain de Soleil
Bain de Soleil was first known in 1925 by Monsieur Antoine of Paris developed an orange Gelee dark tanning formula called Antoine de Paris. The orange gelee formula continued to thrive in Europe and in 1940 a silky sensuous gel was developed in US and called it Antoine Bain de Soleil which means Antoine’s bath of the sun and that’s how the product got its name. Hawaiian topic is a brand of suntan lotion sold worldwide but more popular in the US. Hawaiian topic is the competitor of Coppertone. The 1969, the company was founded by Ron Rice. Hawaiian Topic is the larges manufacturer of sun care products in the US, until in 2007 it was obtained Playtex products.
